Language diffculties can often be solved. On the other hand , deep cultural differences--social expectations, manners, and methods of doing business---can be persistent problem to a salesperson or manager doing business in a foreign country. Countries differ in their preferred meeting times, the formality or informlity of discussion, the length and styles of negotiation, and in scorces of other subtle approaches to business.
Consumers also differ in their preferences from country to country. Colour, shape. packaging, and advertising may have different nations.
Engaging in international business is a very sophisticated activity. It requires great personal and business skill, experience, and knowledge. Even the best international business manager will encounter political, legal, social, and financial obstacles that may be diffcult to overcome. The hurdles are many, but they are not insurmountable.
